Privacy Policy (Summary)

1. Who I Am & What I Do-

  • I am an independent English teacher providing online lessons.
  • I use:
    • Introwise for booking, scheduling, and payments.
    • Whereby (classroom), Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams for live online lessons.

2. What Information I Collect-

I collect only the information needed to provide lessons and manage our learning relationship, such as:

  • Contact details: name, email, Introwise profile details.
  • Booking and lesson information: time zone, lesson history, schedule, cancellations/rescheduling.
  • Learning information: language level, goals, homework, progress notes.
  • Payment information: payment confirmations and transaction details (but not full card numbers, which are handled by Introwise/payment providers).
  • For minors: parent/guardian name and contact information, plus basic details about the student (e.g., age, school year).

3. How I Collect Information-

  • When you book or update lessons through Introwise.
  • When you message me via Introwise or email.
  • When you attend lessons on Whereby, Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
  • When you share homework, documents, or forms with me.
  • Some technical/usage information is collected automatically by Introwise, Whereby, Google, Zoom, and Microsoft according to their own policies.

4. How I Use Your Information-

I use your information to:

  • Provide and manage lessons (plan sessions, track progress, adapt materials).
  • Schedule and remind you about upcoming lessons via Introwise or email.
  • Communicate about homework, changes, or questions.
  • Process payments (through Introwise) and maintain basic accounting records.
  • Improve my teaching by reviewing lesson notes, recordings, and common needs.
  • Meet legal obligations, such as tax and record-keeping requirements.

I do not sell your information to third parties.

5. Platforms & Third Parties-

Your data may be shared with or processed by:

  • Introwise – for bookings, messages, and payments.
  • Whereby, Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams – for hosting online lessons.
  • Payment providers that work with Introwise (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, or others chosen by Introwise).
  • Cloud/storage tools (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, USB Drive) used to store lesson plans, materials, lesson recordings, and notes.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and security measures.

6. Data Storage, Location & Retention-

  • Because lessons are online, your information may be stored on servers in different countries, depending on Introwise, Whereby, Google, Microsoft, and any cloud providers used.
  • I keep your information only as long as necessary to:
    • Provide lessons and manage our learning relationship, and
    • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting rules.
  • When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized where reasonably possible.

7. Data Security-

  • I take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:
    • Using secure platforms like Introwise, Whereby, Google, Zoom, and Microsoft.
    • Protecting my own accounts and devices with strong passwords and, where possible, two-factor authentication.
  • However, no online system is 100% secure, and I cannot absolutely guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.
  • You should also protect your own devices and accounts (updated software, secure passwords, private networks).

8. Your Rights (May Vary by Country)-

Depending on your local laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing.

9. Children’s Privacy-

For students under 18, I collect only the information needed to give lessons and communicate with the parent/guardian.

A parent/guardian must approve lessons and the use of Introwise and online platforms.

If you believe I hold data about a child without appropriate consent, please contact me so I can review and, if needed, remove or adjust the information.

10. External Links & Resources-

  • During lessons, I may share links to external websites or resources (articles, videos, exercises, etc.).
  • I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.
  • Please review their own privacy policies before sharing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Summary-

  • I may update my Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if I change the tools I use or if laws change).
  • By continuing to book lessons through Introwise and attend lessons via Whereby/Google Meet/Teams, you agree to the current version of my Privacy Policy.
